XRP has remained stagnant this week, holding steady at $2.45 as per Coinpedia Market data, even after Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared his views on the company’s future in the payments industry.

Ripple’s Ambitious Plans to Compete with SWIFT
Garlinghouse expressed confidence that Ripple will eventually rival SWIFT, which has been the global standard for over 50 years. Despite recent improvements in transaction speeds, SWIFT transfers often take days to complete, and Garlinghouse believes Ripple’s technology, which offers faster, cheaper solutions, will disrupt this outdated system.
Ripple’s Growing Presence in the U.S.
Garlinghouse also highlighted that the conclusion of the Ripple vs. SEC case will open doors for more American banks to join Ripple’s network. He pointed out that Ripple signed more U.S. banks in the six weeks after Donald Trump's election than in the previous six months combined. However, Ripple’s U.S. business stagnated during the lawsuit, with most partnerships being international, particularly in Japan.
Ripple’s Technology and Advantages Over SWIFT
Ripple’s technology, which includes on-demand liquidity, enables faster and cheaper transactions compared to SWIFT. With transactions completed in less than five minutes and at a fraction of the cost, Ripple’s system stands out as a strong competitor. The introduction of Ripple’s stablecoin, Ripple USD, is expected to play a crucial role in the ecosystem, though Ripple still has a long way to go before matching SWIFT’s 11,000 bank partnerships.
XRP Price Analysis: Bullish or Bearish?
XRP's price chart has formed a head and shoulders pattern, signaling a potential drop to $1. However, the weekly chart shows a bullish pennant formation and a break-and-retest pattern, with the coin moving above its 50-week and 100-week moving averages. If XRP surpasses resistance at $3, the price could rise to $5, representing a 105% increase from its current level. A drop below support at $1.966 would invalidate this bullish outlook.
